|Position Title:||Student- Natural History/Cultural Interpreter|
|Compensation:||$14.25 per hour|
|Hours:||35 hours per week|
|Job Description:||Employer is seeking a summer student to act as a Natural History/Cultural Interpreter for a period of 10 weeks.
To greet and interact with visitors at the Visitor Centre in Cargill and provide them with tourist information about the local area within the Municipality of Brockton as well as the surrounding area
To provide visitors with information on the Greenock Swamp, Southern Ontario’s single largest forested wetland
To become knowledgeable about the history of the area including the importance of the Greenock Swamp to the settlement of Cargill and surrounding area
To research and implement various programs and activities that engage visitors and help them learn about the history and culture of this fascinating area
To open and close the Visitor Centre at the beginning and end of each day
To maintain records and reports throughout the summer on programs, visitor numbers, recommendations, etc.
To operate the Visitor Centre in accordance with COVID standards as required
|Job Requirements:||This position is scheduled to start on June 23rd.
The student can be in high school, college or university
Must be willing to work from Wednesdays to Sundays each week for 10 weeks during the summer months
The qualified individual should be motivated, energetic and able to greet visitors in a positive and helpful manner
The individual should have a driver’s licence or a ride to and from the work place
The student should be comfortable working with volunteers in a team environment
Training provided, including standard first aid, health and safety and online WHMIS training
