Position Title: Graduate Research Assistant
Location: Oshawa
Compensation: TBD
Hours: 20+ hours per week
Job Description: We are a consulting firm that provides tailored business consultation services to corporate, non-profit and community-based organizations, creating programs and developing best practices.

Playing a key role in supporting the firm on researching challenges facing Black students within Ontario.

Responsibilities include:
Defining research intent, crafting data collection tools, collecting data, analysing data
Currently coordinating a School to Prison Pipeline research project. Identifying trends that lead to the push out of Black Students in the education system.
Develop a discussion paper which will include an executive summary.
Literature reviews to inform the content and strategy within initial research proposals for both projects and a provincial/territorial scan.

Additional Duties:
Assistant to the research team
Attend key meetings and take and issue minutes
Take dictation and notes
Do research for various projects and prepare reports
Assist in editing research papers
Assist with editing grant applications
Work on various other tasks as assigned
Job Requirements: Knowledge of Social Justice and Education
Experience with qualitative and quantitative data
Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision
Great interpersonal skills and enthusiasm
Attention to detail
Able to meet job deadlines
Excellent team player
Flexible working standards
Ability to meet on Sundays

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office
