Position Title: Compounding Supervisor
Location: Scarborough

Hours: 40 hours per week
Job Description: Provide operational support to the Compounding department
Plan and execute daily pre-weigh/batching schedule efficiently and effectively in accordance with planning department’s schedule and bulk rework as per R&D/account initiative.
Monitor manpower allocations and usage per shift as per the number of work order.
Oversee the inventory control of raw materials, bases and color bases at the Compounding storage location and ensure accuracy of the system vs. physical count
Comply with 5S/housekeeping, GMP standards, regulatory and customer requirements
Ensure all compounding personnel perform each task in accordance with GMP, regulatory requirements and quality system
Maintain documentation integrity on batching documents as executed by the compounding personnel
Sustain and improve the 5S programs that are suitable for Compounding operation. 
Maintain the 5S/housekeeping by end of each shift that includes pre-weigh skids and raw materials.
Championing a culture of workplace safety
Reinforce safety protocol and procedures to all compounding personnel
Monitor and observe any environment and equipment condition that may pose major safety risk to personnel and company property. 
Report observation directly to the Technical Manufacturing Manager
Report any daily operational issue to the maintenance department with regards to equipment breakdown.
Train and coach compounding personnel
Conduct training on GMP/Safety protocol to new personnel as part of the on-boarding protocol
Coach compounding personnel in the proper execution of batching procedures whenever necessary
 
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Material Science, or a closely related field, is essential.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
Familiarity with compounding processes specific to the cosmetics industry.
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a senior compounder, or team leader in a skin care, cosmetics or chemical manufacturing setting.
