|Position Title:||Registered Practical Nurse|
|Compensation:||RPN: $23. per hour RN: $30.00 per hour|
|Hours:||37.5 hours per week|
|Job Description:||Provide nursing care to patients in accordance with prescribed procedures
In conjunction with the medical team, identify needs of patients and develop and maintain appropriate care plans
Initiate the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) of the patient visit, purpose, history and health care needs. Record patient vitals and prepare patient and room for examination.
Maintain accurate, concise and confidential EMR documentation pertaining to patient history and encounter data.
Educate patients regarding different tests, if needed.
Perform blood pressure follow-ups that include assessing the patient’s response to medications and providing patient education and self management strategies as per Chronic Pain guidelines
Assess patient’s conditions through recognizing and interpreting symptoms, reporting significant changes in physical and emotional condition
Observe, report and record symptoms and administer medication and treatment as prescribed
Ensure all documentation including patient charts and all reports are completed as required
Responsible for safekeeping medications and proper care of equipment office work as necessary, general reception /office work including telephone answering retrieving patient’s messages, scanning, maintaining computer records
Communicate lab and X-ray results and other clinical matters to patients on the phone or in the clinic as per the protocol agreed with the doctors
|Job Requirements:||Successful completion of a Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent
Current certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (RN, RPN)
ACLS certification mandatory
Infection Control Certification
Excellent time management and organizational skills and able to work independently
Excellent oral and written communication skills
The ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
3-5 years Clinical practice experience preferred
