Position Title: Sewing Machine Operator
Location: Hamilton
Compensation: $14.00-$16.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Job Description: The Sewing Machine Operator role is to operate various sewing machines: single needle, serger overlock, multi-needle, double needle and industrial to join sections of garments or other articles into finished products on a piecework or production basis
Maintain company standards for quality and consistency for all products
Follow standard operating procedures and standards for all machine operation and maintenance
Trim, sew/finish fabric as per instructions
Thread machine, change needs and adjust tension as required
Carry, push/pull and package materials as required
Maintain a clean work area
Ensure productivity quotas are met or exceeded on daily basis while maintaining quality standards
This is a temporary position that may lead to a long term permanent position.

Job Requirements: Experience working with a sewing machine (home sewing or industrial sewing)
Has a creative background (i.e., enjoys crafting etc.), working with hands
Previous industrial sewing experience considered an asset
Use and understand basic measurements
Thrives in a challenging and fast-paced environment
Demonstrates a strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Ability to retain information and complete steps as required
Ability to work as a member of a team or individually as required
Punctual and excellent attendance
