|Job Description:||Kinesiologists are responsible for greeting patients entering the clinical area and respective treatment areas (doctor’s office, rehab floor, or treatment room).
Assisting Chiropractors and Physiotherapists with delivery of Plan of Management, including application of therapeutic modalities, exercise instruction/performance/supervision. Kinesiologists also assist Chiropractors with maintaining complete clinical notes for every patient and assisting with supervision of rehab floor activities and treatment rooms.
Fill in Gym Card and SOAP notes. Exercises may be added to Plan of Management provided DC or PT approves them.
Supervise patients during exercise (cardio, stretching and strengthening)
Record subjective symptoms of the patient’s condition, review of previous treatment and outcomes thereof
Complete files and return to filing cabinet. Files must be completed prior to returning to filing cabinet
Communicate with Chiropractor or Clinical Director regarding patients with new complaints or acute injury
Communicate with Chiropractor or Clinical Director regarding issues with patient satisfaction
Maintain the therapy rooms ensuring materials are stocked up, equipment and stations are clean/sterilize beds and all surfaces of all equipment using disinfectant wipes or sprays
Periodically monitor the condition of electrodes for wear and tear, and to replace them accordingly.
Graduate with a Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology or Physical Education or Exercise Physiology or Biological Sciences.
Alternatively, sufficient course work in Human Anatomy, Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology with additional certifications in Personal Training (NSCA, CPTN, Can-Fit-Pro, ASCM) or Strength and Conditioning (CSCS, or similar) is suffice.
