Job Description: The purpose of this role is to provide hands-on management of the SMT function while supporting daily production activities. The focus of this role is to lead and motivate team members to meet customer requirements, while also attaining the company’s objectives of safety, quality, and throughput.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:

Lead and support a dedicated team in all aspects of SMT operations, and exercise control and direction over the day-to-day production activities
Handle operators’ issues / problems pertaining to machine operations, parts related problems and other issues that involve SMT operations.
Ensure quality of workmanship meets IPC standard or customer requirements.
Work with Quality Department and/or Manufacturing Engineer ro resolve process and quality issues.
Review and analyze documentation and communicates any issues to the correct personnel.
Evaluate and recommend improvements to manufacturing methods and ensures minimal downtime.
Pass on information, experiences, knowledge and best practices to other production employees regarding production and/or quality issues.
Analyze and plan workforce and workspace utilization for maximum efficiency.
Assess team member skill levels and ensure appropriate training is provided.
Provide input for discipline, recommendations for increases, training, and terminations in conjunction with Shift Supervisor.
Communicate with supervisor, management, and / or other staff regarding any production issues.
Develop and foster a teamwork environment.
Performs other tasks as directed.
Ensure that work areas are kept clean and that safety rules are followed.
Participate in company or special training classes with emphasis on employee improvement.
Job Requirements:
2-3-year technical diploma in Electronics with a minimum of 2 years work experience, or equivalent knowledge and work experience
Prior experience operating SMT equipment (Samsung, Siemens, Panasonic or another P & P equipment)
Strong understanding and application of workmanship standards, with working knowledge of IPC 610 standards. IPC certification preferred
Proactive work ethic and proven ability to motivate others
Driver of continuous improvement activities, sense of urgency and pro-active approach to problem solving
Detail oriented, quality conscious, well organized, analytical and reliable
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Strong communication skills in both written and verbal English
Computer literate (i.e.  Windows, Excel, Word)
Ability to handle stress and manage conflict; ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
