Position Title: Financial Reporting Specialist
Location: North York
Compensation: TBD
Hours: 40 hour per week
Job Description: The Financial Reporting Specialist is fundamentally responsible for the preparing the financial reporting and analysis, companywide and for all branches.  This position works closely with operations to accurately reflect the results, investigate processes and recommend changes to improve accurate reporting.  This person is expected to track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts and historical data, and be able to meet tight deadlines. It is expected to have a very strong knowledge of GAAP and knowledge of IFRS would be an asset

Analyze financials and overview month end adjustments
Prepare Financial statements
Prepare monthly P & L analysis per product and per Branch
Investigate variances, determine root causes, explain and recommend actions to minimize
Involved with month end and year end closing procedures and audits
Prepare month end and quarter end reports to third parties and senior management
Assist with annual financial forecast 
Provide leadership in formulating new reports (both recurring and ad-hoc)
Comply with all Occupational Health & Safety Act requirements
Special tasks and projects as assigned from time to time

Job Requirements: Minimum requirement is a Bachelor Degree  in Accounting/Finance
Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in financial analysis, forecasting and reporting
Advanced proficiency in Excel is a must
Experience in preparing Financial Statements
Logical mindset that yields an understanding of process flows
Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and practices 
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Accurate and detail oriented
Experience with Sage 300 and Microsoft Dynamics is an asset
Ability to balance priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines
